CALGARY - The Calgary Flames have signed defenceman Rasmus Andersson to a three-year, entry-level contract.

Andersson was Calgary's first pick in this year's NHL draft at 53rd overall in the second round.

The six-foot, 212-pound defender from Malmo, Sweden, turns 19 in October.

Andersson had 12 goals, 52 assists and was plus-14 in 67 games for the Ontario Hockey League's Barrie Colts last season. He also contributed a goal and three assists in nine playoff games.
