Barzal, Islanders agree on entry-level contract
The New York Islanders and Mathew Barzal have agreed to terms on a three-year, entry-level contract.

The New York Islanders and Mathew Barzal have agreed to terms on a three-year, entry-level contract.

Selected in the first round, 16th overall, of the 2015 National Hockey League Draft, Barzal scored 57 points (12 goals, 45 assists) in 44 games last season with the Seattle Thunderbirds of the Western Hockey League. The 6'0", 182-pound forward added eight points (four goals, four assists) in six WHL Playoff games.
