Lamoriello won't try to lure son to Maple Leafs: report
Lou Lamoriello, who resigned as president of the New Jersey Devils on Thursday and was quickly named general manager of the Toronto Maple Leafs, has no plans to bring anyone from his former team's staff with him to his new job -- not even his son, the Bergen Record reported..

Lou Lamoriello, who resigned as president of the New Jersey Devils on Thursday and was named general manager of the Toronto Maple Leafs, said he has no plans to bring anyone from the Devils' staff with him to his new job, Northjersey.com reported Friday.

That includes his son, Chris Lamoriello, who is the Devils' senior vice president of hockey operations. Chris has been GM of their American Hockey League affiliate for the past 14 seasons, and has been with New Jersey for a total of 18 seasons.

"Chris is a New Jersey Devil and he's a good hockey person," Lamoriello told the website. "His fate is in Ray's hands," referring to Devils general manager Ray Shero, who replaced Lamoriello as GM on May 4.

Lou Lamoriello retained the title of president until he resigned to become GM in Toronto.

Chris Lamoriello's role is likely to change if remains with the Devils. On Friday, New Jersey named Tom Fitzgerald as assistant GM; part of Fitzgerald's responsibilities are likely to include overseeing the Albany Devils of the AHL.
