Maple Leafs add Hunwick, Parenteau, Arcobello
The Toronto Maple Leafs signed defenseman Matt Hunwick to a two-year contract and forwards PA Parenteau, Marc Arcobello to one-year contracts on Wednesday. They also re-signed forward Richard Panik to a one-year contract.

Hunwick, 30, had 11 points (two goals, nine assists) and 16 penalty minutes in 55 games for the New York Rangers last season, and was scoreless in six games during the Stanley Cup Playoffs. He has played in 347 NHL regular-season games and has 78 points (18 goals, 60 assists) along with 132 penalty minutes. Sportsnet reported his contract is worth $2.4 million, an average annual value of $1.2 million.

Arcobello, 26, signed a one-year contract; multiple media reports said it is worth $1.1 million. He had 31 points (17 goals, 14 assists) in 77 regular-season games last season with the Edmonton Oilers, Nashville Predators, Pittsburgh Penguins and Arizona Coyotes. In 119 NHL games, Arcobello has 49 points (21 goals, 28 points) and 28 penalty minutes.

Parenteau's contract is for one year; TSN reported it is worth $1.5 million. He cleared waivers Monday and was bought out by the Montreal Canadiens.

Parenteau, 32, had eight goals and 14 assists in 56 games for the Canadiens last season. He has 81 goals and 227 points in 347 NHL games.

Panik, 24, had 17 points (11 goals, six assists) in 76 games with the Maple Leafs after he was claimed off waivers from the Tampa Bay Lightning on Oct. 9, 2014. He has 39 points (19 goals, 20 assists) in 151 regular-season games with the Lightning and Maple Leafs.
