Islanders' Okposo could be on trading block: report
The New York Islanders could use forward Kyle Okposo as a trade chip at the 2015 NHL Draft in Sunrise, Fla., next week, according to Newsday.

New York Islanders right wing Kyle Okposo may be a trade chip for general manager Garth Snow at the 2015 NHL Draft in Sunrise, Fla., next week, Newsday reported Saturday.

Okposo, who is entering the final season of his five-year, $14 million contract, missed 22 games this season after having emergency surgery in January to repair a detached retina. He finished the season with 18 goals and 33 assists in 60 games. Okposo had two goals and one assist during the Islanders' seven-game first-round loss against the Washington Capitals in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Two sources told Newsday that nothing is imminent. The Islanders do not have a selection at the draft until the third round (No. 72).

"There's a lot of different scenarios that could play out," Snow said. "There could be a trade where we acquire a first or a second. We prepare the same way for this draft that we have in past drafts, because you just don't know what's going to happen."

The first round of the draft is Friday (7 p.m. ET; NBCSN, SN, TVA Sports); rounds 2-7 are Saturday (10 a.m. ET; NHLN-US, SN1, TVA Sports).
