2015 Cup Final TV spot ponders 'What's in a name?'

NEW YORK – The National Hockey League (NHL®) will unveil its 2015 Stanley Cup® Final national TV spot today exclusively on the NHL Facebook page. The spot will make its national television debut during Game 1 of the Stanley Cup® Final on Wednesday, June 3.

This year's spot, "Name," celebrates some of the greatest players in NHL history including: Jean Beliveau, Ray Bourque, Martin Brodeur, Bobby Clarke, Sidney Crosby, Ken Dryden, Wayne Gretzky, Gordie Howe, Bobby Hull, Brett Hull, Patrick Kane, Mario Lemieux, Nicklas Lidstrom, Ted Lindsay, Stan Mikita, Lanny McDonald, Mark Messier, Mike Modano, Bobby Nystrom, Bobby Orr, Denis Potvin, Patrick Roy, Joe Sakic, Teemu Selanne, Scott Stevens, Jonathan Toews, Bryan Trottier, Steve Yzerman and others.

Narrated by acclaimed actor and hockey fan Liev Schreiber, the spot reminds us that an individual's name can come to represent much more than just the person. Uttering a name can prompt personal stories, awaken never-forgotten memories and trigger a wide range of emotions - excitement, happiness, passion, pride, inspiration, and even heartbreak.

"Name," like previous Stanley Cup Final TV spots – "Cup Raise," "Boys," "Handshake," and Emmy Award-winner "No Words" – shines a spotlight on a tradition that is unique to the NHL: having your name engraved and immortalized on the Stanley Cup, the most coveted trophy in sports. The commercial fittingly closes with the title card, "Welcome to Forever."
