Tampa Bay Lightning goalie Ben Bishop was pulled from Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Final on Tuesday at Amalie Arena after he allowed five goals on 26 shots against the New York Rangers in 47:14.
Coach Jon Cooper replaced Bishop with backup goalie Andrei Vasilevskiy at 7:14 of the third period after Derick Brassard scored to give the Rangers a 5-1 lead.
The best-of-7 series is tied 3-3 after the Rangers' 7-3 win. Game 7 is Friday at Madison Square Garden (8 p.m. ET; NBCSN, CBC, TVA Sports).
Bishop was pulled in Game 4 of the second round against the Montreal Canadiens after he allowed three goals on 14 shots in 25:08.
Entering Tuesday, Bishop was 11-7 with a 2.08 goals-against average and .922 save percentage in 18 games in the 2015 Stanley Cup Playoffs. He made 26 saves to earn his second shutout of the postseason Sunday in the Lightning’s 2-0 win in Game 5 at Madison Square Garden.
