SATURDAY'S RESULT

Home Team in Caps

CHICAGO 5, Anaheim 4 (2OT) – series tied 2-2

VERMETTE SCORES IN SECOND OVERTIME TO EVEN SERIES AT 2-2

After the teams scored three goals each in the third period, Antoine Vermette scored at 5:37 of double-overtime to even Chicago's Western Conference Final series with Anaheim at two games apiece.

* The Blackhawks improved to 4-0 in overtime games during the 2015 Stanley Cup Playoffs, all of which have required at least two overtime periods. In addition to Game 4, the others included April 15 at Nashville (4-3 2OT W in Game 1 of first round), April 21 vs. Nashville (3-2 3OT W in Game 4 of first round) and May 19 at Anaheim (3-2 3OT W in Game 2 of WCF).

* According to the Elias Sports Bureau, the Blackhawks became the first team in NHL history to win four games in a single postseason that required at least two overtime periods.

* Vermette recorded his second career game-winning goal in the playoffs (also April 25, 2006 at Tampa Bay w/ Ottawa) and first in overtime. He has 11-10—21 in 69 postseason games, including 2-1—3 this year (11 GP).

* Corey Crawford made 47 saves to improve to 7-3 in the 2015 Stanley Cup Playoffs with a 2.36 goals-against average and a .924 save percentage.

* Crawford also improved to 14-9 in 23 postseason overtime games (all w/ CHI), the most such wins among any active goaltender. Elias adds that is the fifth-most playoff overtime victories for one team in NHL history, behind Patrick Roy (23 w/ Montreal and 17 w/ Colorado), Martin Brodeur (16 w/ New Jersey) and Billy Smith (16 w/ New York Islanders).

* Brandon Saad (1-2—3) opened the scoring on a breakaway with his first career shorthanded goal in the postseason. He added two assists to record his first multipoint game of the 2015 Stanley Cup Playoffs and his second career three-point game in the postseason. His other such performance was when he posted 1-2—3 on May 28, 2014 vs. Los Angeles in Game 5 of the WCF (5-4 2OT W).

* Chicago and Tampa Bay share the League-lead with three shorthanded goals this postseason.

* Jonathan Toews (1-1—2) scored his fifth goal and added an assist to record his fifth multipoint game of the postseason. With 34 career playoff goals, Toews passed Dennis Hull for sole possession of eighth on the franchise's all-time playoff goals list.

* Patrick Kane scored his team-leading ninth goal of the postseason on a power-play. With 46 career playoff goals, Kane passed Steve Larmer for sole possession of fourth on the franchise's all-time playoff goals list. The only players with more: Bobby Hull (62), Denis Savard (61) and Stan Mikita (59).

* Brent Seabrook scored his fourth goal of the playoffs, matching his single-postseason career-high from 2010 (22 GP).

* Brad Richards (0-1—1) extended his point streak to four games (1-3—4). Duncan Keith (0-1—1) leads all defensemen this postseason with 10 assists and 12 points (2-10—12).

* Chicago has yet to have consecutive losses this postseason, responding with a win in all four prior instances (including Game 2 of this series).

DUCKS SCORE THREE GOALS IN 37 SECONDS

Ryan Kesler, Matt Beleskey and Corey Perry of the Ducks scored in a span of 37 seconds during the third period.

* According to the Elias Sports Bureau, the goals were the second-fastest three playoff goals scored by one team in NHL history. The fastest three playoff goals scored by one team in NHL history were in a span of 23 seconds by Darryl Sittler (who scored twice) and Ron Ellis of the Toronto Maple Leafs on April 12, 1979 during the first period versus the Atlanta Flames (7-4 W).

* FUN FACT: Elias added that Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville added the secondary assist on Ellis' goal in 1979.
