KUCHEROV, BISHOP LEAD LIGHTNING OVER CANADIENS IN DOUBLE-OVERTIME

Nikita Kucherov scored at 2:06 of the second overtime and Ben Bishop stopped 43 shots to power the Tampa Bay Lightning to a 1-0 series lead against the Montreal Canadiens.

* Tampa Bay's victory over Montreal in Game 1 continued a trend from the regular season. The Lightning swept five games from the Canadiens in 2014-15, marking the first time in franchise history that Tampa Bay swept its season series with Montreal. The Lightning also became the first team to sweep a season series of at least five games against the Canadiens since the Buffalo Sabres went 8-0-0 in 1983-84.

* Kucherov scored his first career playoff overtime goal, which also stood as his first career game-winner in the postseason. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, at 21 years, 318 days old, Kucherov became the youngest player in franchise history to score an overtime goal in the postseason. The previous youngest Lightning player to score an overtime goal in the playoffs was Vincent Lecavalier, who scored in overtime at 22 years, 359 days old on April 15, 2003, when he scored at the Washington Capitals to win Game 3 of the EQF (4-3 W).

* Bishop made a playoff career-high 43 saves to earn his first career postseason win against Montreal. Bishop was 5-0-0 against the Canadiens in the regular season and has a career record of 10-1-2 vs. Montreal.

* Elias says Bishop was the first goaltender in franchise history to make 43 saves in a playoff game since Dwayne Roloson made 50 against the Pittsburgh Penguins on April 20, 2011, in Game 4 of the EQF, (3-2 2OT L).

* Bishop improved to 5-3 in the 2015 Stanley Cup Playoffs. He has a 1.68 goals-against average and a .933 save percentage.

* Bishop, who held a shutout streak to 78:21 prior to Game 1, extended the streak to 133:08 before surrendering a goal to Montreal's Max Pacioretty at 14:47 of the third period. Elias says Bishop's shutout streak was the second-longest in franchise playoff history; Nikolai Khabibulin posted a shutout streak of 147:05 vs. the New York Islanders from April 10-16, 2004.

* Tyler Johnson opened the scoring at 2:34 of the third period with his League-leading seventh goal. The Lightning have five third-period goals in their past three games.

* The Lightning improved to 2-1 in playoff overtime games against the Canadiens. Tampa Bay's other victory was on April 27, 2004, at Montreal in Game 3 of the ESF (4-3 OT W).

* When the Lightning and Canadiens met in the Eastern Conference First Round last year, three of the four games were decided by one goal.

* ICYMI: Bishop made a glove save while stacking his pads on Montreal forward Tomas Plekanec with 2:33 remaining in the second period.

TERAVAINEN POWERS CHICAGO OVER MINNESOTA

The Chicago Blackhawks saw their 3-0 lead erased in a span of 8:09, but Teuvo Teravainen scored the game-winner at 19:01 of the second period to lift the Blackhawks to a 1-0 lead in their series against the Minnesota Wild.

* Teravainen's goal was the first of his career in the playoffs. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, Teravainen was the first member of the Blackhawks to have his first career postseason goal stand as a game-winner since teammate Marcus Kruger did so on May 9, 2013, vs. the Wild in Game 5 of the WQF (5-1 W).

* At 20 years, 232 days old, Elias also says Teravainen was the youngest member of the Blackhawks to score a postseason game-winning goal since Jeremy Roenick scored the game-winner at 20 years, 89 days old on April 16, 1990 vs. the Minnesota North Stars in Game 7 of the Norris Division Semifinals (5-2 W).

* While skating in his 100th career playoff game, Patrick Kane scored his third goal of the postseason and extended his playoff point streak to four games (2-3—5). Kane led Chicago with eight points (2-6—8) in five games vs. the Wild during the regular season.

* Duncan Keith (0-2—2) added two assists and has 1-4—5 in his past two games. Keith was also skating in his 100th career playoff game.

* Brandon Saad opened the scoring at 1:15 of the first period. The goal was Saad's third of the 2015 playoffs.

* Elias says Saad's tally was the earliest goal by a member of the Blackhawks to open the scoring in a playoff game since Brent Seabrook scored at 1:13 of the first period against the Los Angeles Kings on May 28, 2014 (5-4 2OT W).

* Kruger scored his first goal of the postseason.

* Corey Crawford made 30 saves to improve to 2-1 in this year's playoffs. He has a 3.81 goals-against average and a .871 save percentage.

* Chicago improved to 9-3 in 12 playoff games against Minnesota. Marian Hossa (0-1—1) leads all players with 4-12—16 in those 12 games, including 1-8—9 in last year's six-game series.

* The Blackhawks also improved to 3-0 in Game 1s against the Wild. Chicago has never lost a home playoff game against Minnesota; the Blackhawks are 7-0 vs. the Wild at United Center.

NHL FOUNDATION PLAYER AWARD FINALISTS ANNOUNCED

The NHL announced that Brent Burns of the Sharks, Mark Giordano of the Flames and Henrik Lundqvist of the Rangers are the three finalists for the 2014-15 NHL Foundation Player Award, awarded to "an NHL player who applies the core values of hockey – commitment, perseverance and teamwork – to enrich the lives of people in his community."

NHL clubs submitted nominations for the NHL Foundation Player Award and the finalists were selected by a judging panel. The NHL Foundation will present $25,000 to the chosen charitable organization of this year's recipient. The winner will be announced Wednesday, June 24, during the 2015 NHL Awards from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

Montreal goaltender Carey Price made 33 saves but fell to 4-3 in this year's playoffs. He has a 1.85 goals-against average and a .940 save percentage. Price posted a shutout streak of 103:24 before surrendering a goal to Tampa Bay's Tyler Johnson at 2:34 of the third period. ... Montreal forward Max Pacioretty scored his third goal of the postseason. ... Tampa Bay defenseman Andrej Sustr and Montreal defenseman Tom Gilbert each had his career postseason assists. ... Chicago forward Brad Richards (0-1—1) extended his playoff point streak to three games (1-3—4). ... Minnesota forward Zach Parise (1-1—2) scored his fourth goal of the postseason on a power play and added an assist to extend his playoff point streak to three games (3-2—5). Parise's fourth multiple-point game of the 2015 playoffs brought his point total to 24 (9-15—24) in 25 postseason games since joining Minnesota, allowing him to pass Marian Gaborik (12-10—22 in 29 GP) for sole possession of first on the franchise's all-time playoff points list. ... Minnesota forward Thomas Vanek (0-2—2) had his first career multi-assist playoff game. ... Minnesota forward Mikko Koivu (0-1—1) extended his playoff point streak to three games (1-2—3). ...
