QMJHL Roundup: Remparts sweep Wildcats in semis, will play for President Cup

QUEBEC CITY, Que. - The Quebec Remparts will be playing for the President Cup.

Kurt Etchegary and Anthony Duclair each put up five-point outings as the Remparts blanked the Moncton Wildcats 7-0 on Tuesday to sweep their Quebec Major Junior Hockey League semifinal series in four games.

Etchegary led the way for Quebec with three goals and two assists while Duclair scored once and added four helpers.

Adam Erne also had a big game for the Remparts with two goals and two assists. Vladimir Tkachev added a single goal to round out the offence.

Zachary Fucale stopped all 25 shots his way for Quebec, which jumped out to a 5-0 lead by first intermission.

Alex Dubeau turned away 23-of-30 shots for the Wildcats, who were outscored 20-5 in the four-game set.

The Remparts went 1 for 4 on the power play while Moncton failed to convert on three chances with the man advantage.

VAL-D'OR, Que. — Alexis Loiseau had two goals and an assist and Louis-Phillip Guindon made 25 saves as Rimouski doubled up the Foreurs to go up 3-0 in its semifinal matchup.

Tyler Boland and Anthony DeLuca also found the back of the net for the Oceanic.

Anthony Richard supplied the offence for Val-d'Or, which got a 32-save performance from Etienne Montpetit.

The Foreurs will try and avoid elimination when they host Game 4 Wednesday.
