OHL Roundup: McDavid, Otters take Game 3, now up 2-1 on Greyhounds in East final

ERIE, Pa. - Connor McDavid scored twice — including once shorthanded — as the Erie Otters doubled up the Sault. Ste Marie Greyhounds 4-2 on Sunday in Game 3 of the Ontario Hockey League's Western Conference final.

The Otters now lead the best-of-seven series 2-1, with Game 4 set for Tuesday in Erie, Pa.

McDavid has found the scoresheet in every post-season game so far and has 18 goals and 32 points in 12 contests to lead all scorers.

Nick Betz and Nicholas Baptiste also scored for the Otters, who got a 33-save performance from Devin Williams.

Nick Ritchie and Tyler Ganly supplied the offence for the Greyhounds.

Ritchie now has 13 goals and 24 points in 11 playoff games — good for second in OHL scoring behind McDavid.

Sault Ste. Marie's Brandon Halverson turned away 18-of-22 shots in a losing cause.

The Greyhounds failed to capitalize on the only power-play opportunity that was awarded all game.
