The Chicago Blackhawks changed goaltenders in the first period of Game 6 of their Western Conference First Round series against the Nashville Predators on Saturday, with Corey Crawford relieving Scott Darling after he allowed three goals in the first 11:16.

The Chicago Blackhawks changed goaltenders in the first period of Game 6 of their Western Conference First Round series against the Nashville Predators on Saturday, with Corey Crawford relieving Scott Darling after he allowed three goals in the first 11:16.

Crawford made 13 saves, giving the Blackhawks a chance to rally for a 4-3 win that ended the series.

Nashville forward James Neal scored twice in the first 8:09 to give the Predators the lead. Patrick Sharp scored for Chicago at 10:37, but the Predators regained a two-goal edge when Matt Cullen scored 39 seconds later on Nashville's 12th shot of the period.

Chicago coach Joel Quenneville replaced Darling with Crawford, who stopped two shots and allowed the Blackhawks to tie the game before the end of the period on goals by Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane.

It was the second in-game goaltending change by the Blackhawks in the series. Darling replaced Crawford after Nashville scored three times in the first period of Game 1 and shut out the Predators the rest of the way, allowing the Blackhawks to rally for a 4-3 victory in double overtime.

Crawford returned for Game 2 but was beaten 6-2, and Darling started the next four games.
