Inside the numbers on longest game of 2015 playoffs
NHL.com examines the numbers from Game 4 between the Nashville Predators and Chicago Blackhawks, the longest game of the Stanley Cup Playoffs

Chicago Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville probably best summed up the longest game to date in the 2015 Stanley Cup Playoffs.

"I don't think I've ever played a game this late. Ever," Quenneville said.

Blackhawks defenseman Brent Seabrook ended it when his one-timer from the blue line got past Nashville Predators goalie Pekka Rinne for the game-winner 1:00 into triple overtime to give the Blackhawks a 3-2 victory against the Predators in Game 4 of their Western Conference First Round series.

The Blackhawks, who lead the best-of-7 series 3-1, will look to close the series in Game 5 at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville on Thursday (9:30 p.m. ET; NBCSN, SN360, TVA Sports 3, CSN-CH, FS-TN).

Seabrook's third career playoff game-winning goal, all in overtime, made its way through traffic and past Rinne to cap a game that started at 8:46 p.m. CT on Tuesday and ended at 1:16 a.m. CT on Wednesday.

The 101:00 of game time was the Predators' longest ever. The longest game in the history of the Blackhawks stands at 113:50 in a 3-2 victory in against the Montreal Canadiens in Game 3 of the 1931 Stanley Cup Final on April 9, 1931.

Chicago has been involved in each of the last three triple-overtime games, most recently April 17, 2014, in Game 1 of their Western Conference First Round series at St. Louis when Blues forward Alexander Steen scored 26 seconds into the third OT (100:26). Before that, Blackhawks forward Andrew Shaw scored the winning goal at 112:08 in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final against the Boston Bruins on June 12, 2013.

Here's a look at more numbers from the longest game so far of the 2015 Stanley Cup Playoffs:

1: Goals scored by forward Antoine Vermette as a member of the Blackhawks. Vermette was acquired in a trade with the Arizona Coyotes on Feb. 28, and in 19 regular-season games he had three assists but no goals; he was a healthy scratch for Games 1 and 2 of the series and didn't score in Game 3. It also was Vermette's first playoff goal since April 29, 2012 as a member of the Coyotes.

2: Number of overtime games played in this series. The Blackhawks won Game 1 4-3 when defenseman Duncan Keith scored the game-winner at 7:49 of the second overtime.

3: The number of Stanley Cup Playoff overtime goals for Seabrook. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, Seabrook's three playoff overtime goals are tied with Jeremy Roenick for second on the Blackhawks' all-time playoff list, one behind Patrick Kane.

39: Blocked shots recorded by the Predators. Defensemen Roman Josi and Ryan Ellis led with six each.
