SEABROOK ENDS TRIPLE-OVERTIME THRILLER AT UNITED CENTER

Brent Seabrook scored the game-winning goal one minute into the third overtime period to lift the Chicago Blackhawks to a 3-2 win against the Nashville Predators and a 3-1 series lead.

* The clubs also required double overtime in Game 1, when defenseman Duncan Keith provided the winning goal at 7:49.

* Chicago has been involved in each of the last three triple-overtime games. The last such game was on April 17, 2014 in Game 1 of their Western Conference First Round series at STL, when Blues forward Alexander Steen scored 26 seconds into the third OT (100:26). Before that, Andrew Shaw scored the winning goal at 112:08 in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final vs. BOS on June 12, 2013.

* Seabrook scored his third career playoff game-winner, all of which have come in overtime. The Elias Sports Bureau says his three overtime winners are tied with Jeremy Roenick for second on the franchise's all-time Stanley Cup Playoffs list, one back of Patrick Kane.

* Seabrook scored his other overtime goals during the Blackhawks' Stanley Cup run in 2013, in Game 7 of the conference semifinals vs. DET and in Game 4 of the Cup Final at BOS. He has 2-1—3 in the series and 14-35—49 in 93 career playoff games.

* Scott Darling made 50 saves, including 20 during the first two overtime periods, to improve to 3-0-0 with a 1.05 goals-against average and .969 save percentage this postseason (3 GP). Though he started only two of those games, Darling has made 127 saves on 131 shots in 228:43 TOI.

* After notching the game-winning goal in Game 3, Brandon Saad scored for the second straight game at 11:03 of the third period to force overtime.

* Antoine Vermette, who was acquired from the Coyotes on Feb. 28, scored his first goal in a Blackhawks uniform (21 GP). It was his first playoff goal since April 29, 2012 vs. NSH w/ PHX.

* The Blackhawks are 52-41-2 in 95 all-time playoff overtime games. Via Elias, that includes a 5-3-1 mark in games with at least three overtimes.

* The Blackhawks have played past regulation in three of their past four playoff games at United Center (2-1), including one other game that required multiple overtime periods (May 28, 2014 vs. LAK: Michal Handzus GWG at 2:04 of double OT, 5-4 W).

INSIDE THE TRIPLE-OVERTIME NUMBERS

The 101:00 contest was the longest game in Predators franchise history, eclipsing the previous mark of 94:51 set April 30, 2011 vs. VAN (2-1 W). The longest game in Blackhawks franchise history stands at 113:50 (April 9, 1931: Cy Wentworth, GWG, 3-2 W at MTL). BACKSTROM PLAYS OVERTIME HERO TO TIE SERIES

Nicklas Backstrom scored 11:09 into overtime to lift the Washington Capitals to a 2-1 win against the New York Islanders, evening their series at two games apiece.

* After scoring to force overtime in Washington's Game 3 loss, Backstrom played the hero on Tuesday with his third career playoff game-winner, all of which have come past regulation. His three career playoff overtime goals are the most in franchise history.

* Backstrom scored his first overtime goal 31 seconds into the first overtime in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals vs. MTL on April 17, 2010, sealing a hat trick and four-point night. His other such tally came at 2:56 of double overtime on April 14, 2012 at BOS.

* Backstrom (1-1—2) paces all players with six points this postseason (3-3—6), including a goal in each of his past three games. Elias says that is one shy of his career-high goal streak in the playoffs, established from April 17-22, 2008 during his first postseason.

* Braden Holtby made 36 saves, including 15 in the second period, to earn his first playoff road win since April 30, 2012 at NYR, snapping a six-game skid.

* Alex Ovechkin (1-1—2) had his 17th career multipoint game in the playoffs and first since April 16, 2012 vs. BOS (1-1—2).

* Joel Ward had the primary assist in overtime. He scored the Capitals last playoff overtime winner on the road on April 25, 2012 in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals at BOS.

* When teams are tied 2-2 in a best-of-seven Stanley Cup Playoffs series, Elias says the winner of Game 5 holds an all-time series record of 185-50 (78.7 percent).

STRONG START SPARKS FLAMES TO 3-1 SERIES LEAD

Johnny Gaudreau scored his first career playoff goal to spark a three-goal opening period for Calgary and Jonas Hiller made 28 saves, including 15 in the third period, to power the Calgary Flames to a 3-1 win against the Vancouver Canucks and a 3-1 series lead.

* Calgary holds a 3-1 series lead for the first time since the 1994 Western Conference Quarterfinals when Vancouver stormed back with three straight overtime victories en route to a berth in the Stanley Cup Final.

* Gaudreau has 1-2—3 in four playoff games. The 21-year-old Salem, NJ, native tied for the rookie points lead with 24-40—64 during the regular season.

* Hiller earned consecutive postseason victories for the first time since May 3 and May 5, 2009 while with the Anaheim Ducks. Overall, he improved to 3-1 with a 1.79 GAA and .938 save percentage this postseason.

* Jiri Hudler, who earlier on Tuesday was announced as one of three finalists for the Lady Byng Trophy, scored his first goal in the playoffs since April 20, 2012 at NSH w/ DET.

* Hudler's goal stood as his fourth career game-winner in the postseason and first since May 10, 2009 in Game 5 of the Western Conference Semifinals vs. ANA w/ DET (4-1 W). He set a career high with five such goals during the 2014-15 regular season.

* Sam Bennett scored for the second straight game, after scoring his first NHL goal in Game 3. Elias says the last Flames player to score his first two career playoff goals in consecutive team games was Eric Nystrom (April 20 and April 22, 2009).

* Dennis Wideman (0-2—2) had his fifth career multipoint game in the playoffs; his previous such game was May 7, 2010 at PHI w/ BOS (0-2—2). Wideman ranked fourth among defensemen with a career-high 56 points in 2014-15 and set personal bests for goals (15) and assists (41).

* The Flames blocked 29 shots, led by six each by defensemen Kris Russell and Deryk Engelland. Calgary finished second in the NHL with 799 blocked shots (BUF: 824) during the regular season, including an NHL-record 283 by Russell.

3-1 SERIES LEADS

The Blackhawks and Flames each own 3-1 series leads. Elias says teams that go up 3-1 in best-of-seven Stanley Cup Playoffs series hold an all-time series record of 249-27 (90.2 percent).

MRAZEK PERFECT AS RED WINGS TAKE SERIES LEAD

Petr Mrazek made 22 saves, including a sprawling toe save with 1:24 remaining in the third period, to record his first career playoff shutout and lead the Detroit Red Wings to a 3-0 win against the Tampa Bay Lightning and a 2-1 series lead.

* Mrazek had three shutouts during the 2014-15 regular season, including a 23-save performance against Tampa Bay on March 28 (4-0 W). Overall, he has five shutouts in 40 career regular-season games.

* Elias says Mrazek is the fifth rookie goaltender to record a playoff shutout in franchise history. The others: Earl Robertson (April 13 and April 15, 1937 vs NYR), Terry Sawchuk (March 31, 1951 at MTL), Chris Osgood (April 20, 1994 vs. SJS) and Jimmy Howard (April 20, 2010 vs. PHX).

* Mrazek has 66 saves on 68 shots in his two victories this postseason. Overall, he is 2-1 with a 2.25 GAA and .930 save percentage in the playoffs.

* Pavel Datsyuk scored his seventh career playoff game-winning goal (148 GP). He scored five game-winning goals during the regular season, one shy of his career high set in 2007-08 and matched in 2012-13.

* Datsyuk, who was held off the score sheet in Game 2, has 13-20—33 in 29 GP since Jan. 29 and has not played consecutive games without recording a point in that span.

* Riley Sheahan scored his first career playoff goal/point and Tomas Tatar had his first career playoff assist (both 8 GP). Luke Glendening also scored; he has three goals in eight career playoff games, including the game-winner in Game 1.

* Jonathan Ericsson (0-2—2) snapped an 11-game point drought (dating to March 28) with his first multipoint game since Feb. 2, 2013 (0-2—2 vs. VAN). It was his first multipoint game in the postseason (67 GP).

* Including the regular season, the Red Wings improved to 16-2-3 all-time at home against the Lightning. Detroit won 13 of 15 games at Joe Louis Arena from Nov. 23, 1992 to Nov. 30, 2011.

* Overall, the team to score the first goal has won each of the past six games between the two clubs.

DATSYUK, HUDLER, KOPITAR VOTED LADY BYNG TROPHY FINALISTS

Forwards Pavel Datsyuk of the Red Wings, Jiri Hudler of the Flames and Anze Kopitar of the Los Angeles Kings are the three finalists for the 2014-15 Lady Byng Memorial Trophy, awarded "to the player adjudged to have exhibited the best type of sportsmanship and gentlemanly conduct combined with a high standard of playing ability," the National Hockey League announced Tuesday.

* Datsyuk produced at better than a point-per-game pace, totaling 26-39--65 in 63 games to rank second on the Red Wings in scoring despite missing 19 games because of injury. His 26 goals were his most since 2009-10 (27) and were six shy of his career high set in 2008-09 (32). He received eight minutes in penalties over his 63 appearances, the lowest per-game ratio since his rookie season of 2001-02. Among the most decorated players in the 90-year history of Lady Byng Trophy voting, Datsyuk captured the award for four consecutive years (2006-2009) and also was a finalist in 2010, when he finished third.

* Hudler finished eighth in the NHL scoring race and established career highs in goals (31), assists (45) and points (76), helping the Flames qualify for the playoffs for the first time since 2009. Hudler had 23 points in March, when the team jumped from the outside of the playoff picture into third place in the Pacific Division. It marked the most points by any player in a calendar month this season and the most by a Flames player since December 2006 (Jarome Iginla: 10-16--26). A first-time NHL trophy finalist, Hudler was assessed 14 penalty minutes this season, fewest among the League's top 20 scorers.

* Kopitar led the Kings in scoring for the eighth consecutive regular season, the NHL's second-longest active streak behind Washington's Alex Ovechkin (10). He topped the club with 48 assists, his most since a career-high 51 in 2011-12, and 64 points, surpassing the 60-point milestone for the eighth time in as many 82-game seasons. The 27-year-old center took five minor penalties in 79 games. Kopitar is a first-time Lady Byng finalist and an NHL trophy nominee for the second consecutive campaign. He finished second in voting for the Selke Trophy as the League's top defensive forward in 2013-14.

Predators forward Colin Wilson scored for the third time this postseason (4-0—4 in 4 GP). He had one goal in his final 22 games of the regular season . . . The Predators played in their fourth multiple overtime game in franchise history (1-3) . . . Making his first appearance of the 2015 postseason, Canucks goaltender Ryan Miller made 15 saves in relief . . . Islanders forward Casey Cizikas scored their lone goal. He has 3-2—5 in 10 career playoff games . . . The NHL announced updated start time and television information for games scheduled for Friday . . . Senators rookie Curtis Lazar, who has been living with teammate Chris Phillips this season, tweeted a picture of his "Get Well Soon" card for Phillips after the veteran defenseman had season-ending back surgery on Tuesday.
