Canadiens' Pacioretty skates, return still uncertain
Left wing Max Pacioretty skated Saturday morning for nearly 30 minutes at the Montreal Canadiens’ training facility, coach Michel Therrien said.

Left wing Max Pacioretty skated Saturday morning for nearly 30 minutes at the Montreal Canadiens training facility, coach Michel Therrien told the Canadiens website.

It was Pacioretty’s first time on the ice since he sustained an upper-body injury in a game at the Florida Panthers on April 5.

Therrien said Pacioretty was responding well to treatment, but he provided no further update to the probability of Pacioretty being ready for the start of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Pacioretty is not traveling with the Canadiens, who finish the regular season at the Toronto Maple Leafs on Saturday (7 p.m. ET; CBC, TVA).

Pacioretty was injured when he was hit by Panthers defenseman Dmitry Kulikov and slid awkwardly into the boards.

The injury kept Pacioretty out of the Canadiens' final two regular-season games, but Therrien emphasized Wednesday there was a possibility he could be ready to play next week.
