Brianna Decker scored the decisive goal with 9:38 left in the third period and the United States women held off Canada for a 7-5 victory Saturday to win the 2015 IIHF World Championship in Malmo, Sweden.
Decker was one of seven goal scorers for the United States, which held leads of 3-0 and 5-2 before Canada rallied with three goals in a span of 2:03 to create a tie heading into the third.
Anne Pankowski, Hilary Knight, Megan Keller, Anne Schleper, Haley Skarupa and Kendall Coyne had the other goals, and the United States won the World Championship for the second year in a row.
Finland defeated Russia 4-1 earlier Saturday to win the bronze medal.
