SOUTH BEND, Ind. - Ryan Massa made 40 saves and Nebraska-Omaha beat Rochester Institute of Technology 4-0 on Sunday night in the NCAA Midwest Regional final to advance to the Frozen Four for the first time.

Omaha (20-12-6) will face Providence in the semifinals in Boston on April 9. Boston University will play North Dakota in the other semifinal.

Jake Randolph opened the scoring at 1:01 of the third period and Austin Ortega, Justin Parizek and David Pope — into an empty net — added goals in the final 4 1/2 minutes.

On Saturday night, Massa made 33 saves in a 4-1 victory over Harvard, the Mavericks' first win in NCAA Tournament play. RIT (20-15-5) beat Minnesota State-Mankato 2-1 in the semifinals, the first time the 16th-seeded team has beaten the No. 1 overall seed in the history of the tournament.

PROVIDENCE 4, DENVER 1

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — Tom Parisi broke a tie on a power play goal with 5:01 left and Providence beat Denver to reach the Frozen Four for the first time since 1985.

The game turned late in the third period after Denver's Joey LaLeggia was handed a 5-minute major and a game misconduct for contact to the head. Parisi's snap shot from the left point beat Tanner Jaillet.

Noel Acciari opened the scoring for Providence (23-13-3) on a power play with 5:38 left in the second period and Brandon Tanev and Kevin Rooney added empty-net goals.

Denver (24-14-2) tied it at 7:52 of the third on LaLeggia's power-play goal.
