Mike McKenna makes 16 saves as AHL Pirates down St. John's IceCaps 6-0

PORTLAND, Maine - Mike McKenna stopped 16 shots and six different Portland skaters found the back of the net as the Pirates pummelled the St. John's IceCaps 6-0 in American Hockey League action on Wednesday.

Dylan Reese, Justin Hodgman and Lucas Lessio had a goal and an assist for Portland (36-23-6), which snapped a three-game winless skid.

Henrik Samuelsson, Alexandre Bolduc and Tyler Gaudet, while shorthanded, also scored. Patrick McNeill chipped in with three assists.

Connor Hellebuyck kicked out 20 shots for the IceCaps (30-29-9).

The Pirates were 4 for 8 on the power play while St. John's failed to score on four chances with the man advantage.
