The South Carolina Stingrays set an ECHL record with their 18th straight win, 6-0 against the Gwinnett Gladiators at the North Charleston Coliseum on Saturday.
The record of 17 was set by the Cincinnati Cyclones from Jan. 13-Feb. 29, 2008.
The Stingrays, who have NHL affiliations with the Boston Bruins and Washington Capitals, set an ECHL record for longest road winning streak Friday with their 11th straight, a 4-0 win at Gwinnett.
South Carolina has outscored its opponents 78-24 during the 18-game streak, and goaltenders Jeff Jakaitis and Adam Morrison have a shutout in five of the games.
The NHL record is 17, set by the 1992-93 Pittsburgh Penguins.
The North American hockey record is 28, set by the Norfolk Admirals of the American Hockey League during the 2011-12 season.
