New York Islanders right wing Kyle Okposo, who hasn't played since Jan. 19, could be in the lineup against the New York Rangers at Nassau Coliseum on Tuesday, according to Newsday.
Okposo, who had emergency surgery to repair a detached retina, has been skating for more than a week and rejoined the Islanders before their game at the Florida Panthers on Saturday. He still needs to be cleared by the Islanders medical staff.
"I felt great. Ever since I stepped on the ice, I haven't had any hesitations,'' Okposo told Newsday on Monday. "I wasn't really surprised, because your eye should theoretically be stronger than the other one after the surgery. I've been feeling really good on the ice.''
Okposo ranks second on the Islanders with 44 points (14 goals, 30 assists) in 46 games.
