Maple Leafs' Polak to miss remainder of season
The Toronto Maple Leafs announced today that defenceman Roman Polak will undergo season-ending hernia surgery. As a result, the club has recalled defenceman Petter Granberg from the Toronto Marlies (AHL) on an emergency basis.

The Toronto Maple Leafs announced today that defenceman Roman Polak will undergo season-ending hernia surgery. Polak had registered nine points in 56 games with Toronto this season. As a result, the club has recalled defenceman Petter Granberg from the Toronto Marlies (AHL) on an emergency basis.

Granberg, 22, has been held pointless in six games with the Maple Leafs this season. The Gallivare, Sweden native has also played 35 regular season games with the Toronto Marlies, collecting 12 points (one goal, 11 assists) and 20 penalty minutes.
