Friesen, Comets hand Bulldogs third straight loss with 3-2 victory

UTICA, N.Y. - Alex Friesen's goal at 7:24 of the third period stood up as the winner as the Utica Comets edged the host Hamilton Bulldogs 3-2 on Saturday in American Hockey League play.

Will Acton and Cal O'Reilly also scored for the Comets (34-18-6) while Sven Baertschi chipped in with two assists.

T.J. Hensick and Charles Hudon supplied the offence for the Bulldogs (28-23-9), who have dropped three games in a row.

Utica's Joacim Eriksson made 21 saves for the win as Mike Condon kicked out 23-of-26 shots for Hamilton.

Both clubs went 0 for 3 on the power play.
