Blues acquire forward Olli Jokinen from Maple Leafs
The St. Louis Blues acquired veteran forward Olli Jokinen from the Toronto Maple Leafs on Monday for a late-round draft pick, according to TSN.

The St. Louis Blues acquired forward Olli Jokinen from the Toronto Maple Leafs on Monday for forward Joakim Lindstrom and a conditional sixth-round pick in the 2016 NHL Draft.

Jokinen spent two weeks with the Maple Leafs after being traded by the Nashville Predators on Feb. 15 along with forward Brendan Leipsic and a first-round pick in the 2015 NHL Draft for defenseman Cody Franson and forward Mike Santorelli.

"When a top nine player gets injured, we didn't really have a player that could slide up and play consistently there," St. Louis general manager Doug Armstrong told the Blues website. "Olli wanted to go to a team that he felt had a chance to win. He wants to win a Stanley Cup, and he’s willing to take whatever role; he’s 100 percent committed to doing whatever he can do to be a great teammate."

Jokinen had one assist in six games for the Maple Leafs after scoring three goals and six points in 48 games for the Predators.

The third pick in the 1997 NHL Draft by the Los Angeles Kings, he has 320 goals and 747 points in 1,223 games for the Kings, New York Islanders, Florida Panthers, Arizona Coyotes, Calgary Flames, New York Rangers, Winnipeg Jets, Predators and Maple Leafs.

Jokinen has reached the Stanley Cup Playoffs once in his career, scoring two goals and five points in six games with the Flames in 2009.

Lindstrom, 31, has three goals and six points in 34 games this season. He has 18 goals and 39 points in 131 games for the Columbus Blue Jackets, Arizona Coyotes, Colorado Avalanche and Blues.
