Connor Hellebuyck makes 50 saves as St. John's blanks Worcester

WORCESTER, Mass. - Connor Hellebuyck stopped all 50 shots his way as the St. John's IceCaps blanked the host Worcester Sharks 2-0 on Saturday in American Hockey League action.

Jason Jaffray and Chase Balisy scored power-play goals in the first period for the IceCaps (27-24-8) and Hellebuyck turned away 39 shots through the final two periods to preserve the win and earn his sixth shutout of the season.

Troy Grosenick made 20 saves for the Sharks (30-18-6), who were 6-0-1 in their last seven before suffering a regulation-time loss.

St. John's went 2 for 6 on the power play while Worcester failed to score on three chances with the man advantage.
