Kings place defenseman Martinez on injured reserve
The Los Angeles Kings have placed defenseman Alec Martinez on injured reserve retroactive to Feb. 9, Kings President/General Manager Dean Lombardi announced.

The Los Angeles Kings have placed defenseman Alec Martinez on injured reserve retroactive to Feb. 9, Kings President/General Manager Dean Lombardi announced today.

The 27-year-old Martinez (born on July 26, 1987) is a 6-1, 205-pound native of Rochester Hills, Michigan who has appeared in 248 career NHL regular season games, all with the Kings, totaling 72 points (28-44=72), a plus-34 rating and 60 penalty minutes.

A fourth round (95th overall) selection of the Kings at the 2007 NHL Draft, Martinez has played in 45 games this season, registering 17 points (5-12=17), a plus-11 rating and eight penalty minutes.
