Devils trade Jaromir Jagr to Panthers for second-round pick and conditional third

SUNRISE, Fla. - Jaromir Jagr has been traded to the Florida Panthers from the New Jersey Devils in exchange for a second-round pick in June's draft and a conditional third-rounder next year.

The 43-year-old Jagr has 11 goals and 18 assists in 57 games and recently expressed his desire to be traded before Monday's deadline.

This is Jagr's eighth team after stints with the Pittsburgh Penguins, Washington Capitals, New York Rangers, Philadelphia Flyers, Dallas Stars, Boston Bruins and Devils.

Jagr is the active NHL leader in points (1,784), games played (1,530), assists (1,068), goals (716) and power-play goals (202).

His cap hit for this season is US$5.5 million and his salary $3.5 million.
