Forward Henrik Zetterberg left the Detroit Red Wings' game against the Dallas Stars on Saturday with what the Red Wings called an upper-body injury.
There was no indication when the injury occurred, but Zetterberg was involved in a shoving match with Dallas forward Jamie Benn early in the second period during which he was hit in the head. He played a regular shift through the second but didn't play after that.
Zetterberg, the Red Wings' captain and leading scorer, finished with 11:24 of ice time in 18 shifts and did not have a point in Detroit's 7-6 OT victory at American Airlines Center.
Coach Mike Babcock said after the game that Zetterberg would be evaluated Sunday. General manager Ken Holland told the Detroit Free Press that Zetterberg would travel with the Red Wings to California, where they play their next three games beginning at the Anaheim Ducks on Monday.
"We'll see how he is tomorrow," Holland said.
