RALEIGH, NC – Ron Francis, Executive Vice President and General Manager of the National Hockey League's Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the Hurricanes have reassigned defenseman Michal Jordan to the Charlotte Checkers of the American Hockey League (AHL).
Jordan, 24, appeared in each of the Hurricanes' three games following his most recent recall on Feb. 13. The Zlin, Czech Republic, native earned three points during the stint, including his first NHL goal on Feb. 16 at Ottawa. Jordan has skated in 19 total games with the Hurricanes this season, registering three points (1g, 2a) and two penalty minutes. He has notched 10 points (2g, 8a) in 29 games with the Checkers this season. Jordan (6'1", 195 lbs.) is in his fifth professional season, after earning AHL career highs in assists (21) and points (25) in 2013-14 with the Checkers. Carolina's third selection, 105th overall, in the fourth round of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft, Jordan has appeared in 24 career games NHL with the Hurricanes.
