Dallas Stars forward Tyler Seguin has a knee injury and could miss 3-6 weeks, according to the Dallas Stars Inside Edge website.
The Stars announced Saturday that Seguin and forward Patrick Eaves were placed on injured reserve following injuries sustained Friday in a 2-0 win against the Florida Panthers.
With a little less than seven minutes remaining in the third period of the game against the Florida Panthers, Seguin released a pass while entering the offensive zone and was upended by Panthers defenseman Dmitry Kulikov.
Kulikov was assessed a five-minute major for clipping and a game misconduct. Seguin was helped to the locker room and did not return.
Kulikov has been offered an in-person hearing with the NHL Department of Player Safety.
The Stars announced Eaves was placed on injured reserve with a concussion. Less than a minute after Seguin was injured, Eaves was hit in the head by a shot from teammate John Klingberg that forced him out of the game.
"Eaves is on the way to the hospital to get X-rays," coach Lindy Ruff said after the game. "He took a pretty good shot there to the head. He has had a previous injury there, so we're fairly concerned with him."
On Saturday, Ruff said Eaves did not sustain any fractures and is going through the League's concussion protocol. The coach said Seguin would miss 2-4 weeks, a prognosis that was later updated.
Forward Ales Hemsky, who sustained a lower-body injury Friday, is having a procedure and could be back early next week.
The Stars recalled forwards Brett Ritchie and Travis Morin from Texas of the American Hockey League.
