OHL Roundup: League-leading Oshawa Generals down Guelph Storm 7-2

OSHAWA, Ont. - Cole Cassels and Michael Dal Colle both struck twice and Michael McCarron had a goal and three assists as the Oshawa Generals downed the visiting Guelph Storm 7-2 on Sunday in Ontario Hockey League action.

Tobias Lindberg added a goal and an assist for the league-leading Generals (40-7-4), who are 9-0-2 in their past 11 and already clinched a post-season berth, while Bradley Latour scored once.

Tyler Hill and Givani Smith supplied the scoring for the Storm (28-20-4).

Oshawa's Ken Appleby made 23 saves for the win as Justin Nichols kicked out 43-of-50 shots for Guelph.

The Generals went 1 for 5 on the power play while the Storm converted one of three chances with the man advantage.

ICEDOGS 9 KNIGHTS 3

ST. CATHARINES, Ont. — Josh Ho-Sang and Vince Dunn each had a goal and three assists as Niagara handed London its fifth loss in a row.

Brendan Perlini had a pair of goals and an assist for the IceDogs (24-23-4) while Carter Verhaeghe scored once and set up two more. Blake Siebenaler, Jordan Maletta, Anthony DiFruscia and Aleksander Mikulovich tacked on a goal apiece.

Mitchell Marner, Zach Grzelewski and Aaron Berisha scored for the Knights (30-19-3).

67's 6 BATTALION 5 (SO)

OTTAWA— Dante Salituro had two goals and three assists and Brendan Bell scored twice with a pair of helpers as the 67's slipped past North Bay in a shootout.

Travis Barron scored the shootout winner for Ottawa (27-20-3) while Curtis Meighan also scored in regulation.

Miles Liberati led the Battalion (26-12-11) with a goal and two assists. Brett McKenzie, Nick Paul, Brenden Miller and Mathew Santos also found the back of the net.

STEELHEADS 6 STING 3

SARNIA, Ont. — Jimmy Lodge and Sam Babinstev each scored twice as Mississauga toppled the Sting.

Bryson Ciafrone and Stefan LeBlanc added a goal and an assist apiece for the Steelheads (22-27-3).

Stephen Pierog, Anthony Salinitri and Jordan Kyrou scored for Sarnia (24-21-6).

RANGERS 5 GREYHOUNDS 1

KITCHENER, Ont. — Gustaf Franzen struck twice and Jake Paterson made 41 saves as the Rangers beat Sault Ste. Marie.

Darby Llewellyn had a goal and two helpers for Kitchener (25-16-9) and Mason Kohn and Ryan MacInnis added the others.

Jared McCann put the Greyhounds (38-11-2) on the board.
