WHL Roundup: Adam's short-handed goal the difference as Warriors edge Raiders

MOOSE JAW, Sask. - Austin Adam's short-handed, empty-net goal in the third period held up as the winner and the Moose Jaw Warriors stifled a late Prince Albert rally en route to a 4-3 victory over the Raiders in Western Hockey League action on Wednesday.

Brett Howden, Axel Blomqvist and Jack Rodewald had a goal and an assist apiece for Moose Jaw (21-27-4), which scored four consecutive goals — three on the power play — in the second and third periods.

Reid Gardiner had a three-point night with two goals and an assist for the Raiders (21-30-1), including a power-play goal at 18:47 of the third to pull Prince Albert to within one. Kris Scmidli also scored.

Warriors goaltender Brody Willms made 27 saves in the victory. Rylan Parenteau shouldered the loss, stopping 15-of-18 shots.

Moose Jaw was a perfect 3 for 3 on the power play. Prince Albert had one goal on three opportunities with the man advantage.
