Blues' Shattenkirk to have abdominal surgery
St. Louis Blues defenseman Kevin Shattenkirk will undergo abdominal surgery after sustaining an injury in a 4-3 win at the Washington Capitals on Sunday.

St. Louis Blues defenseman Kevin Shattenkirk will undergo abdominal surgery after sustaining an injury in a 4-3 win at the Washington Capitals on Sunday.

Shattenkirk will have the procedure in the next 7-10 days and be listed as week-to-week following its completion, according to the Blues.

The 26-year-old leads all defensemen with 32 assists and ranks second with 40 points in 49 games this season.
