Kessel-Seguin trade, Ovechkin at centre of laugh fest at all-star draft

COLUMBUS, Ohio - Captain Nick Foligno, showing allegiance to a teammate, has selected Columbus Blue Jackets centre Ryan Johansen with the first pick in the NHL All-Star draft.

Foligno and Chicago Blackhawks star Jonathan Toews, captains of the teams in Sunday's All-Star game in Ohio's capital city, took turns after Foligno won a puck flip to determine who would go first.

With the second pick, Toews took Toronto Maple Leafs forward Phil Kessel. Kessel is remembered for being the last player taken — winning a new car for that bit of ignominy — in the 2011 All-Star draft.

Foligno then took Chicago's Duncan Keith and Los Angeles' Anze Kopitar, while Toews picked Nashville's Shea Weber and Philadelphia's Jake Voracek.
