Blackhawks' Carcillo to have phone hearing Monday
Chicago Blackhawks forward Daniel Carcillo will have a phone hearing Monday with the NHL Department of Player Safety after waiving his right to have an in-person hearing for cross-checking Winnipeg Jets forward Mathieu Perreault in a game Friday.

Chicago Blackhawks forward Daniel Carcillo waived his right to have an in-person hearing with the NHL Department of Player Safety on Sunday for cross-checking Winnipeg Jets forward Mathieu Perreault in a game Friday.

Carcillo, who will have a phone hearing Monday, was offered the opportunity for an in-person hearing as required by provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement for any suspension that can exceed five games.

Carcillo was not penalized for the play that occurred near the end of the second period (he drew a penalty for cross-checking Jets forward Mark Scheifele afterward). Perreault did not play in the third period. Winnipeg won 4-2.

The following grounds are being considered for supplemental discipline: cross-checking. However, the Department of Player Safety retains the right to make adjustments to the infraction upon review.
