Predators goaltender Pekka Rinne leaves Canucks game with injury after net collision

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Nashville Predators goaltender Pekka Rinne, who leads the NHL with 28 wins, left Tuesday night's game against the Vancouver Canucks after a collision at the net.

Vancouver forward Chris Higgins drove toward the net in the third period and became entangled with Nashville defenceman Anton Volchenkov. The pair then collided with Rinne, and their momentum carried the Finn into the end boards, where his skates appeared to make first contact.

Rinne remained down on the ice and then rose to his feet after a few seconds. He tried some stretches with the team trainer but exited to the locker room.

Carter Hutton replaced Rinne.

Rinne entered Tuesday with a .930 save percentage and a 1.98 Goals Against Average.

Rinne turned aside 20 of the 21 Vancouver shots. The Predators were leading 2-1.
