Kings' Toffoli out with mono; Pearson injured
Los Angeles Kings forward Tyler Toffoli is out indefinitely with mononucleosis, and forward Tanner Pearson was injured Saturday against the Winnipeg Jets.

LOS ANGELES -- The Los Angeles Kings lost two-thirds of "That '70s Line" on Saturday.

Left wing Tanner Pearson sustained a broken bone in his lower left leg against the Winnipeg Jets at Staples Center, according to the Kings website. Before the game, the Kings announced that Tyler Toffoli, Pearson's linemate, is out indefinitely with mononucleosis.

Pearson went feet-first into the end boards midway through the second period. His legs bent back awkwardly underneath him, and he left the ice at 11:25 without putting any weight on his left leg.

Pearson and Toffoli are tied for second on the Kings with 12 goals.

Pearson was selected Saturday as one of six rookies to play in the 2015 Honda NHL All-Star Game in Columbus on Jan. 25.

Toffoli leads the NHL with four shorthanded goals and has seven points in his past 13 games.

It is not yet known if the Kings will call up another forward.
