NHL UNVEILS UNIFORMS FOR ALL-STAR GAME . . .

The NHL and Reebok unveiled the innovative new uniform system, including the jerseys, that will be worn by the League’s All-Stars during 2015 NHL All-Star Weekend in Columbus, Ohio, Jan. 23-25.

The jerseys feature a lightweight and emblematic chrome NHL shield and two stars on the crest that represent the two participating teams in the 2015 Honda NHL All-Star Game. Each jersey features chrome and elite green accents with the designated home team wearing black and opposing team in white.

The All-Star jerseys also will feature Reebok's trademark Smoothfit numbering and lettering, and two shoulder patches in a tonal application – the player's home team logo and the All-Star Game logo.

. . . LAVIOLETTE, SUTTER TO SERVE AS HEAD COACHES

The NHL also announced that Peter Laviolette of the Nashville Predators and Darryl Sutter of the Los Angeles Kings will serve as coaches for the 2015 Honda NHL All-Star Game in Columbus.

Under the All-Star selection process, the coach of the team with the highest points percentage (points earned divided by total possible points) in the NHL through games of Jan. 10 -- the halfway point of the regular season -- earns the right to lead one of the All-Star teams. Laviolette's Predators have recorded a League-leading points percentage of .725 (27-9-4) and are assured of retaining the top spot through Saturday's games.

As coach of the defending Stanley Cup champion Kings, Sutter will direct the other All-Star Team and be accompanied by members of the Los Angeles coaching staff.

* Stamkos broke a 1-1 tie with 5:18 remaining in the third period to lift the Tampa Bay Lightning to their fifth straight win at Amalie Arena and seventh win in their last eight games overall (since Dec. 23). It was Stamkos' 36th career game-winning goal and fourth this season, which shares fifth in the League.

* With the victory, the Lightning moved into a tie with the Predators (27-9-4, 58 points) and Anaheim Ducks (26-10-6, 58 points) for the most points in the NHL. Nashville and Anaheim hold at least one game in hand, though Tampa Bay owns the ROW tiebreaker (TBL: 26, NSH: 23, ANA: 21)

* Ben Bishop stopped 20 shots to improve to 21-6-2 in 32 appearances, including wins in each of his past five decisions.

* Tavares (2-1—3) tied the game with 6:03 remaining in regulation and scored the game-winner at 3:05 of overtime to rally the New York Islanders to their fifth straight win against the New Jersey Devils (dating to March 29, 2014).

* At 27-13-1 (55 points), the Islanders are off to their second-best 41-game start – in terms of wins – in franchise history (28 wins in 1978-79). They last had at least 55 points at the 41-game mark in 1981-82 (also 55 points). The victory lifted the Islanders ahead of the idle Pittsburgh Penguins (24-10-6, 54 points) into first place in the Metropolitan Division.

* Per Elias, Tavares is the first Islanders player to force overtime in the final 10 minutes and then score in the extra period since Pat LaFontaine on March 11, 1989 vs. New Jersey.

* Tavares scored his seventh career overtime goal – and third this season (also Nov. 5 at Anaheim and Nov. 26 vs. the Washington Capitals) – to extend his franchise record in that category. Since Tavares began his NHL career in 2009-10, only Alex Ovechkin and Stamkos have more regular-season overtime goals (8).

* Josh Bailey scored 62 seconds into the third period to tie the game at 1-1. He also found the back of the net and had the shootout winner in his last game against the Devils, on Dec. 15, 2014.

* Jaroslav Halak turned aside 21 shots to improve to 22-8-0 with a 2.29 goals-against average, .914 save percentage and three shutouts in 30 appearances.

* The Islanders improved to 3-2-0 on their seven-game road trip, which continues Saturday against the Columbus Blue Jackets. The Islanders are tied for the Eastern Conference lead with 13 road wins and are tied for second with 27 road points.

PANTHERS, MAPLE LEAFS KEEP PACE IN EAST

* The Calgary Flames tied the score at 5-5 with 3:54 remaining in regulation but Tomas Fleischmann (1-1—2) scored the game-winning goal 45 seconds later to lift the Panthers to their third win in their last four outings.

* Fleischmann scored the 20th game-winning goal of his career and first since Dec. 5, 2013, against the Winnipeg Jets. He has 5-6—11 this season, including two multiple-point performances (also 1-1—2 on Dec. 4 vs. Columbus).

* Jonathan Huberdeau (1-1—2) posted his second straight multipoint game, following 2-1—3 Thursday at the Vancouver Canucks. He has had back-to-back multipoint games once before: 1-1—2 vs. Buffalo on March 28, 2013 and 0-2—2 two nights later vs. New Jersey.

* The Panthers snapped a three-game skid against the Flames (dating to Nov. 22, 2013) and earned their first win in Calgary since Oct. 14, 2010.

* James van Riemsdyk posted 2-1—3 to match a career high for points in a game and help the Maple Leafs snap a three-game skid. The Maple Leafs have won both meetings against the Blue Jackets this season after earning two wins in their previous seven matchups (2-4-1).

* Van Riemsdyk had at least three points in a game for the third time this season (also 1-2—3 on Nov. 12 vs. the Boston Bruins and 1-2—3 on Dec. 23 at the Dallas Stars). He has 5-6—11 in his past eight games and is second on the Maple Leafs with 19-21—40 in 42 games.

* Phil Kessel (1-1—2) had his 14th multiple-point game of 2014-15 to move into a share of eighth in the League with 19-24—43 in 42 appearances. He skated in his 406th consecutive game to surpass Sid Smith for the second-longest consecutive games played streak in franchise history. Hall of Fame defenseman Tim Horton, who played 486 consecutive games from 1961-68, has the franchise record.

* Tyler Bozak (1-1—2), Daniel Winnik (1-1—2) and Cody Franson (0-2—2) also recorded multiple points for the Maple Leafs, who erased a 1-0 deficit with four goals in a span of 8:53 during the first period.

* Jonathan Bernier stopped 18 shots and is 16-10-3 this season, including 12 victories at Air Canada Centre.

ROY HELPS OILERS END SKID AGAINST BLACKHAWKS

Derek Roy had a goal and two assists and Jeff Petry scored his first career game-winning goal to help the Edmonton Oilers snap a five-game skid against the Chicago Blackhawks and earn their first home win against Chicago since Feb. 2, 2012.

* Petry snapped an 11-game goal drought with his fourth goal of the season, tops among Oilers defensemen.

* Ben Scrivens stopped 19 shots to improve to 3-0-2 with a 2.12 goals-against average and .926 save percentage in his past five games.

* Taylor Hall (1-1—2) and Nail Yakupov (1-1—2) also posted multiple points for the Oilers. Hall leads the club with 11-16—27 in 36 games.
