Rogers Hometown Hockey celebrates Moncton
"Rogers Hometown Hockey" celebrates Moncton, New Brunswick on Sunday on CITY TV in Canada prior to the game between the Florida Panthers and Edmonton Oilers.

CITY in Canada will televise "Rogers Hometown Hockey" at 6:30 p.m. Sunday prior to the game between the Florida Panthers and Edmonton Oilers. The location this week is Moncton, New Brunswick, and the half-hour program will celebrate the city's iconic hockey story. The show will also air on NHL Network in the U.S.

Among the features airing on the pregame show:

* Jacob LeBlanc, 12, was born without a right leg, hip, or pelvis, a rare condition with only eight documented cases in the world. After discovering and falling in love with sledge hockey, with the help of The Dave Bolland foundation, Easter Seals, and Hockey New Brunswick, LeBlanc and others are getting a chance to play.

* Gordie Drillon was born in Moncton and played for one of the most prolific scoring lines on the Toronto Maple Leafs between 1936 and 1942. He won the Stanley Cup in 1941-42 and is the last Maple Leaf to win the NHL scoring title.

* Moncton has its own QMJHL team, the Moncton Wildcats, hoping to win its third league championship in franchise history this season with the help of star forward Conor Garland.
