CITY in Canada will televise "Rogers Hometown Hockey" at 6:30 p.m. Sunday prior to the game between the Tampa Bay Lightning and Ottawa Senators. The location this week is Owen Sound, Ontario, and the half-hour program will celebrate the city's iconic hockey story.
Among the features airing on the pregame show:
* Bobby Ryan never planned to leave the United States to play junior hockey, but he ended up landing in Owen Sound.
* Going to an Owen Sound Attack game is a big deal for the locals, but the Attack almost left the small city, until the community fought to keep it there.
* Dan Snyder died in 2003, but his memory lives on through a memorial foundation in his name that benefits young hockey players.
