QMJHL Roundup: Darcy scores hat trick as Phoenix beat Olympiques

SHERBROOKE, Qc - Cameron Darcy had a five point night — including a hat trick — as the Sherbrooke Phoenix doubled up the Gatineau Olympiques 6-3 on Monday night in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action.

David Storto also had a solid night for Sherbrooke (20-13-3), scoring twice and adding a pair of assists. Carl Neill added the other goal.

Joey Richard, Vaclav Karabacek and Marc Beckstead scored for the Olympiques (15-19-4).

Alex Bureau recorded the win in net for the Phoenix turning aside 29 shots. Brandon Whitney made 28 saves for Gatineau.

Sherbrooke had four power-play goals on seven opportunities while the Olympiques were scoreless on five chances.

HUSKIES 5 FOREURS 4 (SO)

VAL-D'OR, Que. — Mathieu Lemay scored a hat trick and had the winner in the shootout as Rouyn-Noranda downed the Foreurs.

Jeremy Lauzon started the comeback for the Huskies (18-17-2), who were down 4-0 midway through the second period.

Julien Gauthier, Nicolas Aube-Kubel, Anthony Richard and Pierre-Maxime Poudrier scored for Val-d'Or (16-16-6).

SEA DOGS 5 TITAN 1

BATHURST, N.B. — Justice Dundas scored his 13th of the season and added an assist as Saint John beat the Titan.

Mitchell Dempsey, Matthew Green, Spencer Smallman and Braydon Blight supplied the rest of the offence for the Sea Dogs (21-10-5), who snapped a four-game losing streak.

Jordan Maher replied on the power play for Acadie-Bathurst (10-24-5).

REMPARTS 2 SAGUENEENS 1 (SO)

CHICOUTIMI, Que. — Guillaume Gauthier had the only goal in the shootout as Quebec edged the Sagueneens.

Matt Murphy scored on the power play in regulation for the Remparts (23-12-2).

Samuel Hodhod chipped in for Chicoutimi (16-16-2), which had its seven-game winning streak snapped.

ARMADA 3 VOLTIGEURS 1

DRUMMONDVILLE, Que. — Nikita Jevpalovs scored his 28th goal of the season on the power play and it proved to be the winner for Blainville-Boisbriand in its win over the Voltigeurs.

Alexandre Delisle-Houde and Philippe Sanche also found the back of the net for the Armada (20-11-5).

Michael Carcone responded in the second period for Drummondville (17-18-2).

RIMOUSKI, Que. — Philippe Desrosiers stopped all 29 shots he faced as the Oceanic blanked Victoriaville.

Tyler Boland scored his seventh of the season on the power play late in the second period for Rimouski (24-11-2).

Chase Marchand turned away 30 shots in net for the Tigres (19-14-4).
