Stars grab lead in 2nd period, snap Rangers' 8-game winning streak with 3-2 victory

DALLAS - Antoine Roussel scored the go-ahead goal 54 seconds into the second period, and the Dallas Stars broke the New York Rangers' eight-game winning streak with a 3-2 victory on Monday night.

John Klingberg and Ales Hemsky also scored for the Stars, who have won six of seven.

The Rangers' streak tied the NHL's longest this season but fell two games short of matching the team record set during the 1939-40 season and equaled in 1972-73. This run was New York's longest in 40 years.

J.T. Miller and Kevin Hayes scored for the Rangers.

Kari Lehtonen stopped 28 shots and earned his 15th victory of the season. New York's Henrik Lundqvist lost for the first time since Dec. 1.

Roussel's winner came when he gathered the rebound of a wide shot by Ryan Garbutt. He backhanded it into the vacant side of the net for his eighth goal.
