KINKAID RECORDS FIRST NHL WIN

Keith Kinkaid of the New Jersey Devils made 26 saves through regulation and overtime and additionally stopped all three shooters in the shootout for his first NHL win, a 3-2 victory against the Tampa Bay Lightning. With the win, the Devils are 12-16-6 (30 points) this season and have a 12-3-0 home record versus the Lightning since the 2007-08 season.

* Kinkaid is 1-1-2 this season with a 1.75 goals-against average and a .939 save percentage.

* Adam Henrique (1-1—2) opened the scoring on the power-play with his ninth goal and added his 11th assist for his sixth multipoint performance of the season. Henrique is tied for first on the Devils in points (9-11—20) and ranks second in goals and power-play goals (4) this season.

* Patrik Elias (1-0—1) scored his fourth goal of the season by beating Lightning goaltender Evgeni Nabokov on the backhand after a highlight reel spin-o-rama move and also scored the shootout winner.

OTTAWA DEFEATS LEAGUE’S TOP TEAM

The Ottawa Senators built a 4-0 lead en route to a 6-2 victory over the Anaheim Ducks. The Senators scored six goals for the first time this season to win their second consecutive game and improved to 14-12-6 (34 points).

* Kyle Turris (1-1—2) scored a highlight reel goal while shorthanded and recorded his 16th assist of the season to extend his point streak to a season-high five games (3-4—7). The marker was the first shorthanded goal and second game-winning goal of the season for Turris, who is tied for the team lead in assists and points (7-16—23).

* Mike Hoffman (2-0—2) had his third two-goal game and fourth multipoint performance of the season. Hoffman leads the Senators in goals this season with 10.

* Erik Karlsson (0-2—2) and Bobby Ryan (0-2—2) each posted two assists. Karlsson is tied with Turris for the team lead in assists (16) and points (7-16—23), and Ryan ranks third on the Senators in assists (14) and points (7-14—21).

* Mika Zibanejad (1-1—2) recorded his ninth goal and eighth assist to post his second multipoint performance of the season. Zibanejad is tied for fourth on the Senators with 17 points.

* Mark Stone (1-0—1) scored his eighth goal of the season and extended his point streak to five games (3-2—5), tying a season-high set from Oct. 28 to Nov. 6 (2-3—5).

* Craig Anderson stopped 32 of 34 shots to improve to 8-8-4 this season with a 2.43 goals-against average and a .930 save percentage.

LEE LEADS ISLANDERS PAST RED WINGS

Anders Lee (1-1—2) scored the game-winning goal halfway through the second period to lift the New York Islanders to a 2-1 victory over the Detroit Red Wings. The Islanders are 22-10-0 (44 points) this season and are tied with the Tampa Bay Lightning in standings points for second place in the Eastern Conference. With the win, the Islanders extended their franchise record by winning 22 of their first 32 games to begin a season.

* According to the Elias Sports Bureau, the Islanders have won five consecutive games in Detroit and are 8-1-1 in their last 10 games against the Red Wings, with the spans dating to a 2-1 victory on Dec. 4, 2005 in Detroit.

* Lee scored his sixth goal and recorded his third assist to post his first multipoint game of the season. His prior multipoint performance came during the final game of the 2013-14 season when he scored two goals on April 13 in a 4-3 shootout win against the Buffalo Sabres.

* Brock Nelson (1-1—2) scored his team-leading 14th goal and added his 12th assist to record his seventh multipoint game of the season. Nelson ranks third on the Islanders in points (14-12—26) this season.

* Jaroslav Halak stopped 17 of 18 shots to improve to 17-6-0 this season with a 2.30 goals-against average and a .918 save percentage. Halak’s 17 victories tied him for fourth among League goaltenders this season.

HUTCHINSON BACKSTOPS JETS TO VICTORY OVER BRUINS

Michael Hutchinson made 30 saves for the Winnipeg Jets in a 2-1 win against the Boston Bruins. The Jets improved to 17-10-6 (40 points) this season are tied with the San Jose Sharks in standings points for fifth place in the Western Conference. With the victory, Winnipeg leads Western Conference teams with 10 wins this season against Eastern Conference opponents.

* Hutchinson stopped 30 of 31 shots to improve to 7-2-2 this season. The rookie goaltender leads the League with a 1.73 goals-against average and a .940 save percentage.

* Mathieu Perreault (1-0—1) netted the game-winner with his fifth goal of the season. Perreault’s second game-winning goal of the season extended his point streak to six games (2-4—6), which is the longest by any member of the Jets this season.

* Mark Scheifele (0-1—1) recorded his 11th assist of the season has seven points (3-4—7) over his past four games.

* Evander Kane (1-0—1) opened the scoring with his sixth goal of the season. The Jets tied the Pittsburgh Penguins for the most game-opening goals in the NHL this season (22).

BENN LIFTS STARS OVER FLAMES

Jamie Benn (1-1—2) recorded a goal and an assist to lead the Dallas Stars to a 2-1 victory against the Calgary Flames. The Stars are 13-13-5 (31 points) and have won three consecutive games and four of their past five.

* Benn scored his ninth goal and recorded his 19th assist to register his seventh multipoint game of the season, bringing his career point total to 300 (125-175—300). Benn leads the Stars in assists and is second with 28 points (9-19—28). Benn extended his point streak against Calgary to five games (5-7—12), including 11 points (5-6—11) in his past four games against the Flames.

* Cody Eakin (0-2—2) recorded his third multipoint performance of the season. Eakin ranks sixth on the Stars with 13 points (6-7—13).

* Trevor Daley (1-0—1) netted the game-winner with his seventh goal of the season. It is the first game-winning goal of the season for Daley, who is tied for fourth on the Stars with 16 points (7-9—16).

* Kari Lehtonen made 21 saves to improve to 13-7-5, including four victories in his past five games. Lehtonen has a 2.89 goals-against average and a .907 save percentage this season. With the victory, Lehtonen has won seven of his past eight games against the Flames, including four consecutive wins.

* Tyler Seguin (0-1—1) recorded his 16th assist of the season and leads the Stars and the League with 39 points (23-16—39). Seguin has 10 points (5-5—10) in his past five games against Calgary.

LOOSE PUCKS

Tampa Bay forward Ryan Callahan (0-2—2) has four assists in his past two games ... Tampa Bay forward Nikita Kucherov (1-0—1) extended his point streak to a career-high five games (4-3—7) ... Anaheim forward Ryan Getzlaf (2-0—2) extended his point streak to five games (4-4—8), tying a season-high set from Nov. 29 to Dec. 7 (2-8—10). Getzlaf has points in 10 of his past 11 games (6-12—18) ... Anaheim defenseman Ben Lovejoy (0-2—2) recorded his first multipoint game of the season ... Detroit forward Pavel Datsyuk skated in his 846th career Red Wings game, tying Red Kelly for 13th on the franchise games played list ... Winnipeg defenseman Jay Harrison (0-1—1) recorded his first point as member of the Jets after being acquired from the Carolina Hurricanes on Dec. 18 ... Calgary defenseman Mark Giordano (1-0—1) scored his ninth goal of the season and ranks first among League defensemen with 32 points (9-23—32).
