The Washington Capitals on Friday sent rookie forward Andre Burakovsky to Hershey of the American Hockey League

The Washington Capitals announced Friday that rookie forward Andre Burakovsky has been sent to the Hershey of the American Hockey League.

Burakovsky, 19, had four goals and nine assists in 26 games this season.

The 23rd pick of the 2013 NHL Draft, Burakovsky had 41 goals and 87 points in 57 games with the Erie Otters of the Ontario Hockey League last season. He also had three goals and four assists in seven games to help Sweden win the silver medal at the 2014 IIHF World Junior Championship.

Burakovsky could play in the 2015 WJC, but the Capitals opted to not release him to Sweden for the tournament.
