The Lehigh Valley Phantoms made American Hockey League history Tuesday, scoring three times over a 21-second span in the opening minute of the game against the Binghamton Senators.
The Phantoms tied an AHL mark for the fastest three goals in league history. The record was previously set by the Hershey Bears in 1962.
Straka opened the scoring 15 seconds after the first puck drop. Akeson scored 12 seconds later after Lehigh Valley won the subsequent faceoff. Gordon assisted on Akeson's goal and capped the three-goal outburst nine seconds later, beating Binghamton goalie Andrew Hammond and chasing him from the game.
The Phantoms went on to a 5-3 win against the Senators.
