ERIKSSON LIFTS BRUINS IN OVERTIME

After surrendering the tying goal with 8:21 left in regulation, Loui Eriksson (1-1-2) netted his seventh career overtime (WATCH) goal to lift the Boston Bruins to a 3-2 win against the Minnesota Wild.

* Rookie netminder Niklas Svedberg stopped 35 shots, including all 20 he faced in the second period. Per Elias, Svedberg is the first rookie goalie to stop 20 shots in one period for the Bruins since Oct. 27, 2005 when Hannu Toivonen denied 20 shots in the second period of a 36-save victory against the Toronto Maple Leafs.

* Svedberg improved to 5-4-0 with a 2.22 goals-against average, .927 save percentage and one shutout in 11 career games (1-0-0 last season); he has earned four of those victories in extra time (OT: 3; shootout: 1). Elias says Svedberg is the first goaltender in Bruins history to require overtime in at least four of his first five career victories. The last netminder to accomplish the feat with any team was Reto Berra, who required extra time in each of his first five career wins with the Calgary Flames from Nov. 3 to Dec. 23, 2013.

* Patrice Bergeron scored his first goal since Nov. 18 to snap an 11-game drought and push his point streak to five games (1-5-6). He leads the Bruins with 16 assists and 22 points this season.

* Carl Soderberg (1-1-2) snapped a 15-game goal drought and registered his fifth multi-point performance of the season. He ranks second on the club in assists (15) and points (21).

* With the victory, the Bruins (16-13-3, 35 points) snapped a three-game skid and leapfrogged the idle Florida Panthers (13-8-8, 34 points) into the second wild-card position in the Eastern Conference.

Ottawa Senators goalie Craig Anderson and Dallas Stars netminder Kari Lehtonen recorded their 29th career shutouts to tie Antti Niemi of the San Jose Sharks for 11th among active goalies and guide their clubs to victories:

* ICYMI: With Ottawa leading 1-0 in the final minute of regulation, Anderson narrowly missed scoring into the empty net (WATCH).

* Kyle Turris (2-0-2) snapped a 10-game goal drought with his first multi-goal game of the season and pushed his point streak to four games (2-3-5). His game-winning goal was the 14th of his career and first since Mar. 28 vs. CHI. Turris paces the club with 15 assists and shares the team-lead with 21 points (tied with Erik Karlsson).

* The Senators have won three of their past four visits to Prudential Center and are 6-1-1 against New Jersey since 2012-13.

* Lehtonen stopped all 27 shots he faced, including a dozen stops in the third period, to register his second shutout of the season and lead the Dallas Stars to their sixth straight win against the Vancouver Canucks (dating to Apr. 18, 2013); Dallas has outscored Vancouver 25-7 during that span.

* The Stars posted their first-ever shutout in Vancouver. It also marked the third time they have shut out Vancouver since relocating to Dallas for the 1993-94 season. The Stars last shut out the Canucks on Mar. 18, 2004 when Marty Turco stopped 20 shots and Jason Arnott and Bill Guerin tallied 1-2-3 in a 3-0 win in Dallas.

* Colton Sceviour scored his third career game-winning goal, his most-recent such tally was on Dec. 19, 2013 against Vancouver.

Stars forward Antoine Roussel scored into the empty net to stretch his point streak to three games (2-2-4). ... Forward Brett Sutter recorded his first point in a Wild uniform (2 GP). ... Wild netminder Niklas Backstrom has earned at least a point in seven career games vs. Boston (5-0-2, 1.52 GAA, .948 SV% and two shutouts). ... Jason Pominville (1-0-1) and Ryan Suter (0-1-1) connected on the tying goal for Minnesota and appeared in their 700th NHL game. ... Celebrating his 31st birthday, Bruins forward Gregory Campbell logged one hit and a 33.0% efficiency rate in the faceoff circle. ... Nashville Predators forward James Neal has been fined $2,000 as supplementary discipline under NHL Rule 64 (Diving/Embellishment). ... The Flames re-signed coach Bob Hartley to a multi-year contract extension. Hartley has compiled a career record of 400-305-108, including a 71-79-13 mark over parts of three seasons with the Flames.
