BLUE JACKETS EARN SEVENTH STRAIGHT WIN

Sergei Bobrovsky denied all 30 shots he faced and stopped two of three shootout attempts and Ryan Johansen and Boone Jenner tallied in the tiebreaker to lead the Columbus Blue Jackets to their seventh consecutive victory, 1-0 against the Detroit Red Wings.

* The Blue Jackets have won seven straight games for the second time in franchise history and are within one victory of matching the franchise's longest winning streak, set last season from Jan. 6-23 (8-0-0). Their seven-game run is the longest active streak in the NHL.

* The Blue Jackets have required extra time in five games during their winning streak, including each of their past four (2-0 in OT; 3-0 in shootouts).

* Bobrovsky recorded his 10th career shutout and first since April 6 vs. NYI. At 12-8-1, Bobrovsky has been in goal for 12 of Columbus' 13 wins this season, posting a 2.54 goals-against average and .923 save percentage.

* Jenner recorded his first career shootout goal/game-deciding goal (1-for-2, 50.0 percent) while Johansen improved to 7-for-19 (36.8 percent).

* The Blue Jackets improved to 8-2-1 in their past 11 meetings with the Red Wings dating to March 28, 2012.

MAPLE LEAFS MAKE IT SIX IN A ROW

Jonathan Bernier stopped 40 shots and Phil Kessel (2-1—3) tallied three points as the Toronto Maple Leafs recorded their sixth consecutive win, 6-2 against the Anaheim Ducks. The victory halted Anaheim's winning streak at seven games, giving Toronto the second-longest active winning streak in the NHL (behind CBJ).

* The Maple Leafs improved to 10-1-1 in their past 12 games dating to Nov. 20 vs. TBL. With a 19-9-3 overall record (41 points), they hold the first wild-card spot in the Eastern Conference and trail the Lightning (20-10-3, 43 points) by only two points for top spot in the Atlantic Division.

* The Maple Leafs also improved to 14-7-0 this season at Air Canada Centre, including five straight victories and nine wins in their last 10 games. They lead the NHL in home victories (14) and points (28).

* Per Elias, the Maple Leafs have won 14 of their first 20 home games in one season for the first time since 2001-02, when they started 14-5-1 at Air Canada Centre.

* Kessel tallied his fourth three-point performance of the season and now has 4-3—7 over his past five contests. He has 6-6—12 in seven games versus the Ducks.

* James van Riemsdyk (0-2—2) also pushed his point streak to five games (3-4—7) with his seventh multipoint game of the season.

* The Maple Leafs improved to 14-0-0 when scoring first this season. The Canadiens (12-0-0) are the only other team yet to suffer a loss (of any kind) when registering the opening goal of a game.

* Toronto has won six straight meetings against Anaheim dating to Oct. 26, 2009 and has not lost to the Ducks in regulation since Nov. 9, 1999.

PANTHERS WIN RECORD-SETTING 20-ROUND SHOOTOUT

Nick Bjugstad ended the longest shootout in NHL history with his goal in the 20th round to lift the Florida Panthers to a 2-1 victory against the Washington Capitals. A total of 40 shots were attempted by 36 skaters, establishing new records in both categories. The teams shattered the previous record of 15 rounds set when the New York Rangers defeated the Capitals on Nov. 26, 2005 when Marek Malik beat Olie Kolzig.

* In addition to the most rounds, shots and shooters, the following records were set by the Capitals and Panthers:

Most shots by one player: 4 (Bjugstad, Jussi Jokinen, Alex Ovechkin, Nicklas Backstrom)

Most saves by one goaltender: 15 by Roberto Luongo

Most goals by one team: 6 (FLA)

* Bjugstad improved to 4-for-10 (40.0 percent) in career shootout attempts, including three game-deciding goals.

* The shootout featured three players ranked in the top 20 among active skaters in career shootout goals: Florida's Brad Boyes (4th; 37-for-84, 44.0 percent) was stopped on his only attempt while Jokinen (6th; 36-for-84, 42.9 percent) converted on his first shot; Capitals forward Ovechkin (17th; 27-for-88, 30.7 percent) also scored on his first shot but missed his second.

* Luongo stopped 23 shots through 65 minutes before denying 15 of 20 shootout attempts to win his 37th career shootout (37-44).

* With the victory, Luongo moved within one win of tying Mike Vernon (385 wins) for 12th on the all-time NHL wins list.

* The Panthers earned their second victory in their last 12 games with the Capitals dating to Feb. 7, 2012 (2-7-3).

BLACKHAWKS MAINTAIN DIVISION LEAD

In their first meeting since the Second Round of the 2014 Stanley Cup Playoffs -- when Patrick Kane netted the overtime winner in Game 6 -- the Chicago Blackhawks yielded a two-goal third-period lead before Kane netted the game-winning goal at 16:32 to lift Chicago to a 5-3 win against the Minnesota Wild.

* The Blackhawks have won seven straight games at the United Center and are 11-3-1 at home this season and 13-2-0 in their past 15 games overall. At 22-9-1 (45 points), Chicago sits atop the Central Division, leads the League in wins and trails only Anaheim (21-7-5, 47 points) in the Western Conference and NHL standings.

* Kane (1-2—3) scored his League-leading fifth game-winning goal of the season and extended his point streak to four games (3-3—6). He paces the Blackhawks in goals (15), assists (17) and points (32) in 32 games.

* Jonathan Toews and Brent Seabrook each tallied a goal and two assists. Toews has back-to-back multipoint games for the first time since Dec. 27-28, 2013 (2-2—4 vs. COL and 0-2—2 at STL); Seabrook registered his first three-point game since Dec. 5, 2010 vs. CGY (0-3—3).

* Antti Raanta turned aside 26 shots to win his fourth straight start and improve to 5-2-0 this season.

* The Blackhawks improved to 9-3-3 in the past 15 regular-season games between these clubs dating to Feb. 16, 2011.

HAT TRICKS POWER BLUES, CANADIENS

Vladimir Tarasenko and Alex Galchenyuk each tallied a hat trick to lead their teams to victories:

* Down 2-0 in the second period, the St. Louis Blues scored five unanswered goals, powered by 3-1—4 from Tarasenko, to rally for their fifth straight victory, 5-2 against the Los Angeles Kings. The Blues have won each of their past four home games and are 7-0-1 in their past eight contests at Scottrade Center.

* Tarasenko recorded his second career hat trick/four-point game, matching career highs set on Oct. 28 at DAL. Tarasenko is the first Blues player to record multiple hat tricks in one season since 1996-97 when Brett Hull also had hat tricks against the Stars and Kings. He joins Stars forward Tyler Seguin and Ducks forward Corey Perry as the only players with multiple hat tricks this season.

* Tarasenko registered his fourth game-winning goal of the season, marking a new career-high and placing him behind only Chicago's Patrick Kane (five) for the League-lead. Tarasenko has 6-4—10 on his six-game point streak.

* Alex Galchenyuk recorded his first career hat trick (and multigoal game), including the final two goals in a span of 1:09 in the third period, to power the Montreal Canadiens to their third straight victory, 4-1 against the Carolina Hurricanes. Per Elias, Galchenyuk, 20, is the youngest Canadiens player to record a hat trick since March 17, 1986 when Stephane Richer became the youngest player ever to accomplish the feat with the franchise (19 years, 283 days). Max Pacioretty (0-3—3) added a career-high three assists and Carey Price stopped 25 shots to improve to 11-5-2 in 18 career appearances vs. CAR.

* At 20-10-2 (42 points), the Canadiens are in a points-tie with the Red Wings (17-7-8, 42 points) and sit one point behind the Lightning (20-10-3, 43 points) for top spot in the Atlantic Division.

PREDATORS CONTINUE HOME ICE SUCCESS

Pekka Rinne stopped 33 shots and all three shootout attempts and Derek Roy scored the game-deciding goal as the Nashville Predators defeated the Boston Bruins 3-2.

* The Predators improved to 12-2-1 at Bridgestone Arena this season; they are tied with the Blues for the most victories and points (25) on home ice among Western Conference teams.

* At 20-8-2 (42 points), Nashville sits in the third spot in the Central Division, two points behind St. Louis (21-8-2, 44 points) and three points back of Chicago (22-9-1, 45 points).

* Rinne improved to 7-1-0 when facing 30-plus shots this season. At 20-6-1, Rinne leads all goaltenders in wins -- three more than the any other goaltender (17 – Marc-Andre Fleury, Carey Price and Frederik Andersen) -- and ranks first in GAA (1.76) and save percentage (.937 – tied).

* Filip Forsberg notched an assist to bring his NHL rookie-leading points total to 12-18—30 in 30 games.

NASH POWERS RANGERS TO FOURTH STRAIGHT WIN

The Rangers opened a 4-0 lead – including multipoint efforts by Rick Nash (2-0—2) and Derek Stepan (1-1—2) – and Henrik Lundqvist stopped 29 shots to guide the Rangers to their fourth consecutive victory, 5-2 against the Calgary Flames.

* Nash extended his point streak to a career-long 11 games (8-6—14), matching the longest point streak of the season (Evgeni Malkin: Oct. 9 – Nov. 4). Nash has recorded a point in 24 of the Rangers' first 29 games this season (20-13—33). Only nine other Rangers have recorded points in at least 24 of the opening 29 games of the season, and only three others since 1991-92: Mark Messier (1991-92), Jaromir Jagr (2005-06) and Brendan Shanahan (2006-07).

* Nash shares second in the League with 20 goals (tied with Vladimir Tarasenko), three behind Tyler Seguin for the NHL lead. Nash is the only player with an active streak of 11 consecutive 20-goal seasons.

* Lundqvist recorded his 17th career NHL assist on Stepan's second-period goal; he is 12-5-3 with a 2.11 GAA, .925 save percentage and five shutouts in his past 20 games.

AROUND THE RINKS

Highlights from the rest of action Tuesday:

* After surrendering the opening goal in the final minute of the first period, Steven Stamkos (1-0—1) and Tyler Johnson (1-1—2) scored in the second period to power the Tampa Bay Lightning past the Philadelphia Flyers 3-1 and snap a two-game skid. Just one day after being named the CCM/AHL Player of the Week, Andrei Vasilevskiy stopped 23 shots in his first NHL start/game. With the victory, the Lightning (20-10-3, 43 points) leapfrogged the Red Wings (17-7-8, 42 points) into first place in the Atlantic Division, one point behind the Eastern Conference-leading Penguins (20-6-4, 44 points).

* The Winnipeg Jets also allowed the opening goal in the final minute of the first period but scored five unanswered goals, highlighted by 2-1—3 from Mark Scheifele, en route to a 5-1 win against the Buffalo Sabres. Scheifele now has two three-point performances in his past three outings (1-2—3 on Dec. 11 vs. COL); he had no three-point games in his first 106 GP. Evander Kane (1-1—2) and Michael Frolik (1-1—2) also posted multipoint games; Frolik has three multipoint games in his past four. The Jets (16-10-6, 38 points) have earned points in nine of their past 10 games (6-1-3) and occupy the first wild-card spot in the Western Conference.

* Oliver Ekman-Larsson tallied his fourth career overtime goal at 4:59 of overtime to lift the Arizona Coyotes to a 2-1 win against the Edmonton Oilers. Four of Ekman-Larsson's seven goals this season have been game-winners, including three in overtime (also: Oct. 11 vs. LA; Oct. 25 vs. FLA). Per Elias, Ekman-Larsson's goal was the latest in franchise history, besting the previous mark of 4:53 set by Keith Yandle on Dec. 31, 2013 vs. EDM. Each facing their former club, Devan Dubnyk stopped 31 shots to improve to 2-0-0 vs. EDM while Sam Gagner notched an assist on the overtime goal.

KINGS UNVEIL STADIUM SERIES JERSEYS

The Kings unveiled their jersey for the 2015 Coors Light NHL Stadium Series, which will be played at Levi's Stadium on Saturday, Feb. 21 (10 p.m. ET, NBCSN, HNIC, TVA2).

ALL-STAR FAN VOTE CROSSES 20 MILLION VOTE MARK, GIRGENSONS MAINTAINS LEAD

For the third straight week, Sabres forward Zemgus Girgensons is the top vote-getter in the 2015 NHL All-Star Fan Vote presented by SiriusXM with 1,089,865 votes. The second, third and fourth spots are once again occupied by Blackhawks teammates Patrick Kane (586,310), Jonathan Toews (573,198) and Duncan Keith (567,184), respectively, while goaltender Corey Crawford has moved into the fifth spot with 501,259 votes.

More than 20 million votes from 196 countries have been cast to date, up 120 percent from four weeks of voting in the fan vote campaign for the 2012 NHL All-Star Game.

Girgensons' vote surge continues to be led by Sabres fans and hockey fans in his native Latvia, accounting for more than 80 percent of his total votes.

If voting ended today, forwards Girgensons, Kane, Toews; defensemen Keith and P.K. Subban (460,966) of the Canadiens; and goaltender Crawford would be bound for the 2015 Honda NHL All-Star Game.
