Chicago Blackhawks send Jeremy Morin to Columbus Blue Jackets for Tim Erixon

CHICAGO - The Chicago Blackhawks have traded forward Jeremy Morin to the Columbus Blue Jackets for defenceman Tim Erixon.

Morin has no points in 15 NHL games this season. The winger was assigned to Rockford of the AHL for a conditioning assignment Tuesday because he wasn't playing at all with the loaded Blackhawks.

The 23-year-old Morin has eight goals and eight assists in 54 career regular-season games, all with Chicago. He also played in two post-season games in May.

Erixon, 23, had one goal and five assists in 19 games with Columbus this season. He scored his first NHL goal on Oct. 26 at Los Angeles.

The Blackhawks lost rookie defenceman Trevor van Riemsdyk to a broken left kneecap last month. They reassigned defenceman Klas Dahlbeck to Rockford on Sunday.
