Dallas Stars general manager Jim Nill announced Thursday that forward Travis Morin has been recalled from the Texas Stars, Dallas' affiliate in the American Hockey League.
Morin, 30, leads the Texas Stars and is tied for fourth overall in the AHL with 24 points (10-14-24) in 23 games this season. The 6-foot-1, 190-pound native of Brooklyn Park, Minn., has skated in seven career NHL contests, posting one assist and six shots.
Morin was originally selected by Washington in the ninth round (No. 263) of the 2004 NHL Draft. Dallas signed him as a free agent on July 2, 2010.
The Stars also announced that defenseman Jamie Oleksiak has been assigned to Texas.
Oleksiak, 21, has four points (1-3-4) in 21 games for Dallas this season. The 6-foot-7, 250-pound native of Toronto was selected by Dallas in the first round (No. 14l) of the 2011 NHL Draft.
