Dallas Stars forward Ryan Garbutt will have a hearing Thursday morning with the NHL Department of Player Safety for a slew-footing incident with the Winnipeg Jets' Dustin Byfuglien during a game Tuesday at American Airlines Arena.
Garbutt and Byfuglien were pursuing a puck in the Winnipeg end when Garbutt knocked down Byfuglien at 13:22 of the third period. Garbutt was assessed a minor penalty for tripping. Byfuglien remained in the game.
The Jets won the game 5-2.
The following grounds are being considered for supplemental discipline: Slew-footing. However, the Department of Player Safety retains the right to make adjustments to the infraction upon review.
