The Minnesota Wild announced Thursday that defenseman Ryan Suter has the mumps, but he might not be out of the lineup very long.
Suter sat out the Wild's game Wednesday against the Montreal Canadiens. It was the first game Suter had missed since signing with the Wild in July 2012.
The Wild play Friday at home against the Anaheim Ducks but coach Mike Yeo said Suter was feeling better and could play Friday.
"I'm not even ready to rule him out tomorrow," Yeo said according to the Wild website. "It affects people differently."
Suter leads the League in average time on ice at 29:19 per game. In 23 games he has one goal and 12 assists.
